Banking Security Tips

  • Memorize your Personal Identification Number (PIN) and other security information and destroy the notification immediately.
  • Do not write your PIN down or keep it in your wallet or purse.
  • Do not solicit help from third parties. When in need of help, please call the Bank helpline 
  • Do not use easy-to-guess dates, numbers or passwords such as your birthday as the PIN or password.
  • Change your PIN or password regularly.
  • Sign up for SMS alerts to enable you cross check and confirm your transactions.

Emails/ Data/ Links/SMS from Unknown Sources

  • Always delete spam messages.
  • Be aware of the potential for fraudulent SMS messages. The Bank will never request or invite customers to log on to its mobile banking service via an SMS message.
  • To avoid spyware, always act with caution when installing any third-party software onto your mobile phone. Do not install pirated software or software from unknown sources.
  • Do not open attachments or links from unknown sources; this protects your handset from being infected by viruses

Unauthorized Access

  • Do not share your mobile banking PIN with anyone.
  • Do not share your mobile phone with untrustworthy people.
  • Do not leave your mobile phone unattended during an open mobile banking session.
  • Avoid performing transactions or applications in public places. This helps in minimizing the risk of security threats such as “shoulder surfing” of mobile banking credentials.
  • Keep your mobile phone in an auto lock mode to provide additional protection.
  • Do not log on to the mobile banking application from a mobile phone that is shared with other people, as it may be difficult to ensure the mobile phone is free of hackers or spyware.
